Lobke’s previous experience
A natural academic, Lobke’s favourite subjects at school were science, maths, and literature. "I did well academically, but the traditional school system never quite suited me - I’ve always been more of a hands-on learner," she explains.
That instinct led her into a broad range of practical roles over the last decade. "I’ve worked in management roles across a variety of industries. No matter the field, I’ve always been passionate about improving organisational systems and finding ways to boost efficiency. In my previousr ole as Site Manager for a sustainable development company, I really came to appreciate how much I enjoy working within the trade."
It’s a background that fits perfectly with Summit Environmental’s blend of technical precision and proactive risk management, especially when supporting clients with complex projects involving asbestos surveys, fire risk assessments, and legionella control.
What led Lobke to Summit?
"I’ve always been drawn to the energy and excitement that surrounds project-focused work. There’s something special about helping people turn their ideas into reality .At Summit, I get to be right in the middle of that."
Lobke adds, "Mark has a strong and inspiring vision for the company, and it shows in how he treats his team, his clients, and the wide network of skilled people involved in each project. Summit values kindness and equality - I’m proud to be part of it."
What does the role entail? And howdoes it help our clients?
As Project Administrator, Lobke supports Managing Director Mark Elwell and Summit’s team of surveyors, helping ensure everything behind the scenes runs seamlessly."Together with our wonderful Office Manager, Maddy, I work on keeping Summit efficient and ready to deliver for our clients as we gear up to take on more and more exciting projects."
Her work helps ensure clients experience the kind of proactive, professional and responsive service that Summit Environmental is known for - whether the job involves asbestos sampling, a fire door inspection, or a full-scale compliance strategy.
Life outside of work
Originally from the Netherlands, Lobke moved to the UK in 2011."Even as a child, I was fascinated by the English countryside. Now I get to enjoy it every day with my own children, which really is a dream come true."
A keen runner and hiker, Lobke spends as much time as possible exploring the beautiful South Downs National Park, which she now calls home.
It takes more than great surveyors to deliver great building safety —it takes great support.
