‍Meet Summit Environmental's newest consultant: Axel Toth

At Summit, we take a huge amount of pride in our expert team of consultants, as well as those who support us behind the scenes, and the immense amount of effort they put into keeping you and your building’s safe. So it’s always instantly gratifying when we meet someone who is equally as passionate about safety as we are. That's exactly what happened when we met our newest consultant: Axel Toth. And now it is our great honour to introduce him to you. ‍

Bringing facilities management expertise to the consultancy team

With close to a decade of experience in facilities management, Axel has spent much of his career working in educational premises — ensuring the smooth running of schools and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Axel explains: “I was responsible for the daily running of schools, as well as keeping all the statutory documentation and health and safety documents up to date. I was also the main fire warden, in charge of FRAs, evacuation policies and conducting fire drills.”

This background has given Axel a strong grounding in building safety, particularly in fire risk management, where accuracy, consistency, and clear communication are essential. His practical experience will be invaluable in supporting Summit’s clients with services such as fire risk assessments and fire door inspections, helping them to maintain safe and compliant premises.

A shared vision for safety

After completing his NEBOSH General Certificate, Axel was ready for a new challenge. His goal was to move into a surveying and consultancy role — one that would allow him to combine his operational knowledge with his passion for helping others stay safe.

“I was looking for a new challenge, in a surveying and consultancy role, ” Axel says. “I found a lot of Summit’s visions align with mine, in terms of providing the best possible services to keep people safe.”

That alignment made Summit Environmental the perfect fit. As part of the team, Axel will be involved in supporting clients across the UK with asbestos surveying and management, fire safety consultancy, and legionella compliance — all areas where Summit provides expert, accredited support.

Supporting clients with a friendly and professional approach

Axel brings both technical precision and a personable approach to his role, something he hopes will help build strong, lasting relationships with Summit’s clients.

“I’m hoping my experience and keen eye will help provide excellent service when conducting surveys and giving clients the best possible help I can give with their queries,” he says. “I’ve always been described as someone very friendly and approachable, so I’m hoping to keep a good relationship with both clients and colleagues, helping to drive the company forward.”

Axel’s approachable manner, coupled with his detailed understanding of risk management and compliance, make him a valuable addition to Summit’s growing team of consultants.

Creative passions and future goals

Outside of work, Axel enjoys a rich creative life. “I like to do illustrations, with pen, ink and watercolours,” he says. “I draw creatures and original characters inspired by folklore and stories. I also enjoy playing a variety of video games, especially story-driven adventures and RPGs. With friends, I enjoy playing board games and tabletop RPGs.”

His creativity and dedication have even led to public recognition. “My proudest moment to date was my first solo art exhibition in a Brighton venue, where my original artwork and T-shirt designs were displayed. I am a fully self-taught artist, and the venue reached out to me on social media to display my artwork.”

Looking ahead, Axel hopes to continue developing his career at Summit. “In five years, I’d like to be settled in my new role, being confident and working towards a more senior role. I would also like to gain more NEBOSH training, to have more experience and knowledge with the services the company offers.”
